STEP 1
大規模アセンブリの操作 Operations in Large Assembly Data

大規模アセンブリーの操作 Operations in Huge Assembly Data

Assembly data can be very huge with many components and sub-assemblies, which eventually cause the system to take much time to load data and perform operations including CATIA modeling, updating, saving, or closing the data.

Performance issues will be discussed in this chapter.


STEP 2 表示モードについて Visualization Mode

1. 設計モードと表示モード Design Mode & Visualization Mode

2. 表示モードの設定(キャッシュモードON)

How to Switch to Display Mode (Casche Mode ON)
Tools > Options > Infrastructure > Product Structure > Cache Management (tab) > Cache Activation (field)
Check "Work with cache system".

3. 設計モードへの切り替え方法  How to Switch to Design Mode

1) Switching by Double-clicking
Double-click on the component to turn the settings to Design Mode.

2) Switching from Contextual Menu
Righ-click on the component. (Multi-selection is possible using the [Ctr] key.)
From the contextual menu, select Representations > Design Mode.


STEP 3
モデルの非活動化  Deactivating Models

1. モデルの非活動化って何?What is "Deactivating Models"?

Models will not be in neither show space nor hidden space. performance can be increased if deactivation is done before opening an assembly.


2. モデルを非活動化、活動化する Deactivating & Activating Models

1) モデルを非活動化する Deactivating a model
Right-click the components to deactivate
Representations > Deactivate Node

2) モデルを活動化する  Activating a Model
Right-click the components to activate
Select Representations > Activate Node

3. アセンブリを開く際に非活動化する Deactivating Models Before Opening Assembly Data
Tools > Options > Infrastructure > Product Structure > Product Visualization (tab)
In the "Representation" area, check "Do not activate default shapes on open".
==> When assembly data opens, the model will be deactivated. (Performance will be increased.)
==> All of the components are deactivated, allowing user to activate specific data.


STEP 4 
構成要素のアンロード Unloading Components

1. 構成要素のアンロードって何? What is "Unloading Components"?

*Settings where the file data will not be loaded.
*When components are unloaded, their information will be removed of the system. 

2. 構成要素をアンロード/ロードする Unloading/Loading Components

*From the contextual menu, select Components > Unload or Load.

3. アセンブリを開く際の自動ロードをオフにする
Tools > Options > General > General (tab)
In the "Reference documents" tab, remove the check for "Load referenced documents"
==> Reference files will not be loaded when assembly data opens.

4. 深さ指定を行なって構成要素をロードする Selectively load components by the hierarchy

*Icon operation.

Click on the "Selective Load" icon.
Multi-selection is possible.
Click on the Load button.
List of components will be displayed in the "Delayed actions" area.
Select 1, 2, or All to specify the depth.

1:    Will load components on the 1st level
2:    Will load components until the 2nd level
All: All the levels will be loaded

付記: 自分が沖縄(沖縄出身というわけではないのですが)でCATIA講習を受けた際にとっていたノートを元に、おおまかな知識を書き出してみたのだけれども、久しぶりに見直してみて、随分いろんなことを習ったものだと改めて思うに到り、中には今になって、なるほどそういうことだったか、と合点のいくものもあったりで、復習をしてみる意味においても、当時のメモやノートを掘り起こすのは悪くないかと思い、書いてみた次第です。
